About the Event

From Extraction to Regeneration: A New Food System Model

Speaker: Amilcare Astone, Founder at Fiordilatte Food & Radici Store

How can we shift from an extractive food system to a regenerative one—one that restores soils, strengthens local communities, and redefines the very notion of value?

From Extraction to Regeneration introduces a new food system model rooted in territories rather than markets. The talk presents the “Cilento möter Sörmland” project as a concrete and living example, connecting Southern and Northern Europe through two pioneering Organic Districts: the Bio-Distretto del Cilento in Italy and the award-winning region of Sörmland in Sweden.

Promoted by RADICI, the project operates as a transnational platform where farmers, institutions, and local communities co-design regenerative organic practices and solidarity-based trade models. By placing soil health, biodiversity, and social resilience at the core of food production and distribution, the Organic District emerges not as a label, but as a systemic alternative—capable of transforming food into a regenerative infrastructure for territories and future generations.

Gabriella Ödman is a certified board director, business strategist and management consultant. With an MSc in Economics & Business Administration and a background as Marketing and Communications Manager, she has extensive experience working with both Swedish and Italian companies — including serving at ENIT, the Italian National Tourist Board.

Today, she is active in several boards and advisory boards and runs Kansea Business Future, a management consulting business focused on strategy and corporate communications, mainly within the Life Science industry. Gabriella helps boards and leadership teams create strategic clarity, alignment, and growth.

Om Italien

Världens sjätte största industrination

Italien är världens sjätte största industrination och Sveriges tolfte största exportmarknad. Det italienska affärslivet är starkt präglat av olika industridistrikt där industrin främst är koncentrerad till norra Italien. Under 2014 importerade Sverige italienska produkter till ett värde av ca 33 000 mkr, medan Italien importerade svenska produkter till ett värde av 27 000 mkr under samma år.

Den svenska exporten till Italien består främst av maskiner och transportmedel, telekom-utrustning, massa och papper, kemiska produkter samt järn och stål.
